Fertility will usually start to decline in your 30’s. Factors that may contribute to infertility include age, smoking, stress, certain medical issues, obesity, alcohol and drug use. With that said, what are some of the more clear signs that you are in fact fertile and ready to get pregnant? Here are 4 signs that signal peak fertility: Your period should be very predictable One good indicator for fertility is when your cycle is quite predictable every month. That signals fertility. I’m not talking about birth control cycles but natural cycles without any medical intervention. Though the length and regularity of a menstrual cycle may differ, the average duration of a complete menstrual cycle is 28 days (though healthy cycles can run from 21-36 days). Cycles longer than 28 days don’t necessarily mean anything is wrong with you. Your ovulation day will be about half your cycle length. This is another true indicator for fertility.

Here are 4 signs that signal peak fertility:

Your period should be very predictable

One good indicator for fertility is when your cycle is quite predictable every month. That signals fertility. I’m not talking about birth control cycles but natural cycles without any medical intervention.

Your ovulation day will be about half your cycle length.

This is another true indicator for fertility. If your cycle averages 30 days then you should ovulate around cycle day 15. A positive sign on your ovulation predictor kit signals that you should expect to ovulate within the next 36 hours.

A late ovulation means that the current uterine lining starts to be a bit too old, which means it would be harder for a fertilized egg to attach, although it doesn’t harm the baby if you do get pregnant after all.

You will have a very fertile cervical mucus

Cervical mucus or cervical fluid is one of the primary fertility signs to getting pregnant. A dry cervical mucus can resist the movement of sperm and inhibit fertilization.

Directly prior to ovulation, your cervical mucus should be abundant. The stretchiness of the mucus indicates that ovulation is likely imminent.

Cervical mucus or cervical fluid is one of the three primary fertility signs to getting pregnant. A dry cervical mucus can resist the movement of sperm and inhibit fertilization.

Fertile mucus will be thin, slippery (like lubricant), stretchy and translucent. Typically, fertile-quality cervical fluids will appear a few days prior to and during ovulation.

You will experience a real increase in libido

Fertile women, right before ovulation, will experience a rise in sexual desire as estrogen and testosterone levels increase. Your body will also change during this period. Fuller lips, a high pitched voice and a change in facial structure also signal increased fertility.

Having sex at the right time is essential to getting pregnant. It is important to have sex just prior to and at ovulation time, but what if you ovulate late? Like after day 16? Then you may find it difficult to maintain a pregnancy even if you are lucky enough to conceive. Some cycles are a recipe for disaster, and even if you do manage to conceive, they will likely result in a miscarriage. Cycles with an ovulation time after day 16 is one of them. Why? Because the uterine lining is no longer optimal for nourishing a fetus. If you find that you regularly ovulate after day 16, be sure to tell your doctor! Now, it is important to understand that once you’ve ovulated, you have just about a 12 hour period of time to conceive. That’s because the lifespan of an egg, once it has ovulated, is only about 24 hours so if that egg is not fertilized within the first 12 hours after ovulation, conception is likely not going to happen. That is why it’s important to have sex before ovulation, if possible. A study has found that among healthy women trying to conceive, nearly all pregnancies […]

Some cycles are a recipe for disaster, and even if you do manage to conceive, they will likely result in a miscarriage.

Cycles with an ovulation time after day 16 is one of them. Why? Because the uterine lining is no longer optimal for nourishing a fetus.

That is why it’s important to have sex before ovulation, if possible.

A study has found that among healthy women trying to conceive, nearly all pregnancies can be attributed to intercourse during a six-day period ending on the day of ovulation.

Obviously, frequent ejaculations reduce sperm count, sperm concentration, and the percentage of sperm that are motile.

So frequent ejaculation could potentially reduce the potency of subsequent batches of sperm.

Too much sex can theoretically decrease sperm count, which can then take a few days to rebound.

So probably the best and optimal approach would be to have sex every other day, instead of every day, during your fertile window.

Many women who cannot get pregnant or who may experience repeated miscarriage often suffer from a luteal phase defect, which simply means that the luteal phase of their cycle (the time between ovulation and their menstrual flow) is too short to develop a thick enough uterine lining to support a fertilized egg. This can either result in an inability for the fertilized egg to implant in the first place, or an inability to thrive, thus resulting in a very early miscarriage. Some women actually miscarry every month without realizing it believing that they are simply having a regular period. The cause of this disorder is generally low progesterone levels, although low FSH and LH levels can also be to blame. Some signs that you may suffer with a luteal phase defect include: 1. Ovulating before day 10 of your cycle or after day 20 (this can be determined by using an ovulation predictor test or charting your basal body temperature and cervical mucus). 2. Pre-menstrual spotting. 3. Menopausal symptoms. Once a diagnosis of LPD is made, there are several options for treatment. In many cases fertility drugs such as Clomid are used to boost progesterone levels and make a pregnancy […]

Long term use of birth control pills should not have a negative impact on your fertility or on your ability to conceive. Most women can get pregnant within the first 12 months of contraceptive discontinuation but a study found that women who used a combined estrogen and progestin birth control pills for more than three years were were more fertile than women who used them for a shorter period of time. Once you stop birth control pills your period should return within a few months. There is an obvious delay in returning to normal ovulation and menstruation as your body takes time to start producing these hormones again. Most women can become pregnant within 6 months of trying. However, bear in mind that there are known risks in taking the pill for a very long period of time, in the form of blood clots, especially after the age of 35. Unlike birth control pills, getting pregnant after a Depo-Provera shot can take much longer and up to a couple of years. The IUD method as well as contraceptive ring users can usually conceive within a year after stopping use. Need guidance on how to improve your fertility? Check out my Pregnancy Miracle program

There are many changes the body goes through during pregnancy. Some of these changes can trigger symptoms you may find similar to other conditions such as fever or even the flu. The first trimester is probably the worst in terms of symptoms. You may experience extreme fatigue, nausea and vomiting on a daily basis, headaches as well as tender breasts. Symptoms actually tend to be the worst at around 9 or 10 weeks in which the levels of hCG are at their highest. This is the hormone that is normally checked to see how well your pregnancy is progressing. You’ll be surprised to know that pregnancy will weaken your immune system. This is to make sure that the body won’t reject the fetus. As a result, you can become more susceptible. These immune system changes can increase your risk of catching the flu as well as other infections. Another thing to remember is that the more toxins and accumulated waste you have in your body the worst these pregnancy symptoms will become. That is why it is so important to prepare your body beforehand so that when you do get pregnant that first trimester won’t become a nightmare for you. […]

Many women keep asking me whether their PCOS condition can have a negative effect on their ability to conceive. It is true that a hormonal imbalance regardless of the actual cause can decrease your chances of getting pregnant naturally. I always recommend first treating the imbalance and only then trying to conceive. So how would you treat PCOS? PCOS, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, is a common disorder among infertile women. It can cause the ovaries to fail to release an egg for fertilization or for release to happen at the wrong time in the cycle but it doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t be able to get pregnant. You can, however, increase your fertility even if you have PCOS by adopting a healthy lifestyle, most importantly, diet and regular exercise(and losing excess weight can always help as well). One of the best ways to do that is by controlling blood sugar level and maintaining a low insulin level. This will also decrease your body’s inflammation level. Diet and exercise can take care of all of these factors. You must focus first not just on eliminating junk food which is obvious but on lowering the total amount of carbs in your diet, especially […]

You must focus first not just on eliminating junk food which is obvious but on lowering the total amount of carbs in your diet, especially the empty carbs in the form of processed food and sugar.

You don’t have to follow a Keto diet but a low carb version of the famous Mediterranean diet.

This means fruits, vegetables, legumes in moderate amounts, nuts, seeds and some fish(preferably salmon not tuna).

Combine the above diet with a regular workout even for just 20-30 minutes each day and you will be able to lose excess weight and lower blood level of both insulin and sugar thus managing your PCOS naturally and increasing your ability to conceive.

Cervical mucus or cervical fluid is one of the three primary fertility signs to getting pregnant. A dry cervical mucus for example can resist the movement of sperm and inhibit fertilization. Vaginal infections, sexually transmitted diseases, obesity, breastfeeding, and stopping birth control pills can all change the nature of your cervical mucus. Obviously, pregnancy is more likely to happen if you have sex on a day when fertile cervical mucus was present. Directly prior to ovulation, your cervical mucus should be abundant. The stretchiness of the mucus indicates that ovulation is likely imminent. Fertile mucus will be thin, slippery (like lubricant), stretchy and translucent like a raw egg white. Typically, fertile-quality cervical fluids will appear a few days prior to and during ovulation. You have to make sure that your cervical mucus is optimal for pregnancy. So in order to improve the quality of your cervical mucus, stay hydrated throughout the cycle, drink carrot and green juices on a daily basis, stop drinking coffee and take Primrose oil as well as B6 vitamin supplements. It can have such an amazing effect on your fertility in so many ways. You would be surprised to know that labs use its extract in certain medications that women take to treat menstruation or menopausal issues. Vitex can fix irregular cycles. The length of the luteal phase can be increased by taking Agnus Castus. A short luteal phase is associated with decreased fertility. Vitex can also help women who suffer from severe premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It can relieve breast tenderness, depression, mood swings and irritability. Furthermore, taking Vitex for at least 2 months can maintain normal ovarian function, trigger the production of progesterone and help women with lack of ovulation or infertility. I would recommend taking at least 750mg of Vitex every day from menstruation till ovulation but some women take it during the entire cycle non-stop for at least 2-3 months as it takes time for it to build in the system. Need guidance on how to improve your fertility? Check out my Pregnancy Miracle program
