Can you prevent a miscarriage?

Statistics tell us that between 15-20% of all pregnancies will end in a miscarriage. About 2% of all women will experience two or more miscarriages.

But can you do anything to prevent a miscarriage or is it all up to chance?

1. If you’ve just has a miscarriage then you want to wait at least 1-2 months before ttc again. Allow your body to recover from the traumatic event. Rest and recuperate mentally and emotionally before the next try.

2. If the cause was a weak uterus then you will need to focus on strengthening it. Herbs such as Red raspberry Leaf and Artemisia can help build a stronger uterine lining.

3. Make sure you supplement with at least 400 mcg of folic acid every day as it lowers the risk of an early miscarriage. Also take a good multivitamin for women that includes iron, Vitamin D, and zinc. You don’t want to be deficient in any of these important nutrients.

4. You have to manage you stress so stay away from stressful situations and environments. Relieve stress by doing daily meditation even for just 10-15 minutes.

5. And finally, eat a healthy balanced diet including lots of vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds. No junk food.
